Bohlabela Resource Advice Centre

Bohlabela Resource and Advice Centre (BRAC) is a non-profit organization (NPO) founded in 2000 and registered in 2005. We are based at Bushbuckridge at Ehlanzeni District Municipality in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.

It came into being in response to high illiteracy level; lack of access to justice; human rights violations. It offers access to information for the indigenous people to combat crime and all sorts of abuses.

Its mission: educating and improving access to justice; raising awareness; strengthening democracy through partnerships with other civil society subscribing to the improvement of lives of indigenous people including women, youth, farms dwellers and disabled people.

It offers the following services: rights education workshops; paralegal services, UIF claims, divorce matters, referrals, maintenance cases; illegal evictions, consumer problems; criminal matters and awareness raising around matters of interest to the community. It has a strong networking strategy with stakeholders such as the Commission on Gender Equality; Legal Aid South Africa; Mpumalanga Access to Justice Cluster and is an affiliate of ACAOSA.
