The Diocese of Kroonstad Justice and Peace was established in 1978. Their main focus areas are: Economic Justice and Food Security; Gender Relations; Xenophobia and Refugees; Land Reform; Good Governance and Crime; Climate Change, Environment Destruction and Pollution; Local Government Advocacy; Human Trafficking and Illegal Mining; Water Usage, Contamination and Electricity; Soil Erosion. The organization liaises with the municipalities, local businesses, companies and all government sectors to attend to the needs of the communities and try to find solutions to the problems faced by the communities and help to bring to their attention the citizens’ requests and needs of the local people.

J & P and the clinic manager are aware of the challenges and committed to working together to improve the service. The Sash has made clinic committee training material available to the J&P, and encouraged them to join the Free State Health Crisis Coalition. Sash has also introduced them to the relevant stakeholders in health in the province.
